DREAM THEATER's 'Turn Of Events' Tops Japanese Chart

September 8, 2011

Progressive metal giants DREAM THEATER have issued the following update:

"We've always said we have the best fans in the world; they never fail us! This includes our dear friends in Japan who've been through so much this year.

"Today we heard from our label that our new album, 'A Dramatic Turn Of Events', went in on the day of release at #1 on the total album sales chart! That's the chart for both the domestic and international artists.

"We are massively proud! Thanks to all the believers! And Japan, stay strong!"

"A Dramatic Turn Of Events" which marks new drummer Mike Mangini's recorded debut will be released in North America on September 13 via Roadrunner Records.

"We have poured our hearts and minds into the creation of this album," keyboardist Jordan Rudess said. "All the life-changing events that surrounded us before, as well as during the whole process, fueled our desire to dig deep within ourselves and create the best music we possibly could."

Vocalist James LaBrie added, "In the grand scheme of DREAM THEATER's career, the last several months have been such an incredibly positive, fulfilling and rewarding experience. The new songs and sound has never been so spirited or rejuvenating. I cannot wait for every one of our fans to sink their audio senses into this batch of tunes."
